Jaguars are the largest of South America’s big cats and the third largest in the world. The average life span in the wild is 12 to15 years. Their weight is 100 to 250 lbs. Their size from their head to their tail is five to six feet long. Their tail is 27.5 to 36 inches long.
Unlike many other cats, jaguars do not avoid water. They like to swim in freshwater like rivers and lakes. They also drink from rivers and lakes. They also hunt for fish and capybaras in the rivers and lakes. Jaguars even jump in when it’s a hot day.
They eat deer and even big snakes and monkeys too. Jaguars like to climb trees.
